How NABL and NABH accreditation works with us

How much does accreditation cost?
It depends on the size of your lab or hospital: the number of departments, tests and sites. After your free consultation, we share the full price up front, with internal audits included at no extra cost.
How long does it take?
Most labs are ready for assessment in about 90 days, from the gap analysis to the assessment visit. Your free roadmap sets out your exact timeline.
Do you help hospitals with NABH?
Yes. We take hospitals and healthcare providers through NABH accreditation, entry level and full, with the same method: gap analysis, training, documents and a mock assessment.
Do you work on-site or remotely?
Both. Our experts visit your lab or hospital for key stages such as the gap analysis and the internal audit, and support you remotely in between. Training runs as live online sessions.
Do we still need our own quality manager?
Yes, in practice. ISO 15189:2022 no longer uses the title "quality manager", but it still requires people in your organisation with the authority to implement, maintain and improve the management system, and assessors expect to meet them. We train and support that person, and a dedicated Quality Manager from our team stands beside you during audits.
What happens if the assessor finds non-conformities?
We help you write the corrective actions, gather the evidence and close every non-conformity, so nothing holds up your accreditation.
Which states do you work in?
We work with labs and hospitals in 16+ states across India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Goa.
Can you help us stay accredited?
Yes. We prepare you for every surveillance visit and for reaccreditation, so you stay accredited year after year.
What is the difference between NABL and NABH?
NABL accredits medical laboratories, such as pathology laboratories and diagnostic centres, against ISO 15189:2022. NABH accredits hospitals and healthcare providers against its own standards, as entry-level certification or full accreditation. Both are boards of the Quality Council of India, and a hospital with its own laboratory can hold both.
Do you work with laboratories inside hospitals?
Yes. We prepare pathology laboratories, diagnostic centres and laboratories in hospitals for NABL. If the hospital itself is also preparing for NABH, we look at both in your free consultation and recommend where to start, since the two are assessed separately.
What is CAP accreditation?
CAP is the College of American Pathologists in the USA. It accredits laboratories against checklists customised to each laboratory's test menu, and is meant for laboratories serving international clients or clinical trials. CAP expects enrolment in proficiency testing at least six months before you apply, and inspects every two years once you are accredited.
What is NABH entry-level certification?
It is NABH's first step towards full accreditation. Under NABH's Entry-Level Certification Programme (2nd Edition), small healthcare organisations of up to 50 beds and hospitals of 51 beds and above can apply, online through NABH's HOPE portal. Does Qualityveda grant the accreditation?
No. Accreditation is granted only by the accreditation body, NABL, NABH or CAP, after its own assessment. We prepare your lab or hospital and your team for that assessment and support you through it.
What is ISO 15189:2022?
ISO 15189:2022 is the international standard for quality and competence in medical laboratories. NABL assesses medical laboratories in India against it, together with its own specific criteria. Putting the standard into practice is most of the work of getting a laboratory accredited.
