In today’s healthcare system, accurate test results depend heavily on the quality of the lab. That’s why it's important to check whether a lab is NABL accredited or not — before trusting their reports.

But how do you verify a NABL certificate?

Here are a few easy ways to check if a lab truly holds a valid NABL accreditation:

✅ How to Verify NABL Certificate

1. Check for the NABL Symbol on Reports
   NABL-accredited labs will display the NABL logo on their reports — this is one of the first signs of accreditation.
2. Look for the NABL Certificate Number
   Just below or beside the NABL symbol, the report should mention a certificate number. This number is issued by NABL and is unique to every lab.
3. Verify the Format of Certificate Number
   For medical testing labs (like pathology labs), the NABL certificate usually begins with “M-” (Example: M-1234).
   Calibration labs start with “C-” and testing labs with “T-”.
4. Check the Validity Period on the Certificate
   A genuine NABL certificate always mentions the issue date and validity. Most certificates are valid for 2 years with regular surveillance.
5. Cross-Check on the NABL Website
   Visit nabl-india.org and use their directory of accredited labs to verify the certificate number and lab name.
